About the Insurance and Financial Services Ombudsman

What is the IFSO?

The Insurance & Financial Services Ombudsman (IFSO) acts as an independent party to resolve disputes in the insurance world.

Before you go to the IFSO, you need to go through our Complaints resolution process. The Ombudsman will only consider your complaint if we can't agree on a solution.

You need to refer your complaint to the IFSO within three months of receiving our written response.

The IFSO service is free for customers. Please see the Ombudsman's website for a list of the disputes it can consider.
