All about honesty - disclosures and declarations

Why is it important to disclose information and answer declaration questions?

All insurance contracts need both parties to disclose any information that may affect the policy. We will be honest and fair with you and you must be honest and fair with us. It means that we need you to tell us anything that may influence our decision to insure you. You will also need to let us know if there is a change in your circumstances.

For example, with a car policy you will need to let us know if there are any modifications or if you've been convicted of a driving offence, or even had a speeding ticket.

The declaration questions need to be answered honestly so we are able to assess the risk of insuring you and ensure the appropriate cover is in place.

What happens if I do not disclose information and answer declaration honestly?

Trade Me Insurance may decline any claim and/or cancel your insurance policy.
