If you wish to withdraw or cancel a claim, this can be done at any time provided that repairs have not started or replacement arranged. For example, if the panel beater has started repairs, it's too late to cancel the claim.
Claims can sometimes be withdrawn in the following circumstances:
- There was no loss due to the event
- There was no cover by the policy - this could relate to wear and tear or gradual damage
- The claim is uneconomical
A claim cannot be withdrawn if it is under investigation or if a claim has been declined due to non-disclosure, misstatement or fraud.
