Oh #$?! you've had a car accident!

Firstly, take care of yourself!

If your vehicle is not able to be driven, please contact our team and we will arrange for the car to be towed to a panel beater.

A claim can always be made at a later date. Make sure your immediate needs are taken care of.

If a third party was involved in the accident, try to get their contact details, car registration and who insures them. We will then be able to contact them on your behalf.

Try to record the date, time, and location of the accident. If you can, taking photos at the scene can also be helpful. If another person's property is involved or there is a witness to the accident who is not part of your immediate family, please try to get their contact details.

If you have an accident while out of town or have no way to get home, call us on 0800 800 444. Your policy might cover the rest of your trip.

Lodging a claim

When you are ready to make a claim, you can do this by signing into My Insurance. The head to the claims menu to get things started.

We have a number of preferred panel beaters who have been carefully selected to provide high quality repairs. To see this list, click on Recommended car repairers.  If you want to use your own panel beater, please provide us with their contact details in the claim form.

If you have a third party only policy and have caused the accident, you will need to contact us to lodge a claim. If the other person caused the accident, you should get their details as the claim will be lodged through their insurance company.

What happens next?

After your claim is lodged the panel beater will conduct a digital assessment. They will take photos of the damage and prepare an estimate to repair your car.

Once you have submitted your claim we will email further instructions confirming what happens next.

Still unsure? Fire up a live chat or contact us, we are here to help.
